If Avenues Bistro is fluent in anything, it’s dessert. Avenues Classics (an Avenues partner company) is our premium commercial bakery based here in Kansas City. We don’t just specialize in any old dessert but prefer to think of our treats as experiences.
When it comes to dessert, we’re innovative. We think outside of the box and take our customers out of their tastebud comfort zones.
Avenues Classics was born from authentic family recipes, which our founder combined with the highest quality ingredients and experimental methods to create contemporary concepts and unique flavor profiles.
From classics like our Triple Chocolate Cheesecake to more innovative desserts like our Vin Santo or Key Lime Cake, Avenues intent is on ending your meal with a smile.
Seasonally, we like to treat our customers by changing it up and offering limited edition desserts like our Pumpkin Spice Cake (think pumpkin pie filling, pecan mousse layers, and candied pecans!). If pumpkin isn’t your thing, our Red Velvet Cannoli Cake is to die for.

Joe Birch, Head Chef, and Owner of Avenues Bistro and Avenues Classics, brings a wealth of culinary experience to the table. He embraces European artisanship and creates original, handmade dessert that is both contemporary and creative. Avenues Classics desserts begin from authentic family recipes, some over 100 years old.

Joe’s latest creation with Avenues Classics stems from a partnership with Agave Loco, LLC. He crafted these cakes to feature the award-winning flavor of RumChata® combined with real dairy cream and touches of cinnamon and vanilla.
The RumChata® Cakes line features the following desserts:
A delicious dessert made with creamy RumChata white chocolate mousse and topped with white chocolate shavings.
RumChata® Chocolate Gateau
A true chocolate lover’s dream — a flourless chocolate cake topped with a RumChata chocolate ganache and premium white and dark chocolate shavings.
RumChata® Mousse Cake
A rich triple layer cake loaded with white chocolate mousse and topped with white chocolate shavings.

Even though we use a lot of RumChata in our desserts, the alcohol content burns off in the baking process. As a result, all the delicious RumChata flavor remains.
The cakes contain less than 1/2 of 1% alcohol, which means any age group can enjoy.
If frozen, you can store your RumChata Cake in the freezer at zero degrees (0° F) for up to 6 months.
To thaw, put your RumChata Cake in your refrigerator overnight or thaw at room temperature for up to 2 hours.
When refrigerated, your RumChata Cake will stay fresh for up to one week.
